Began his journey in the Financial Markets in 1994 after a brief stint in Dalal Street as a Software consultant to Bombay Stock Brokers. Brainstorming sessions with the then stakeholders of Indian Capital Market convinced him about the enormous growth opportunities in the field of Investments and the importance of a "logical approach" to investing rather than on hearsay as it was prevalent in the 90s.
He realised that the need of the hour is a research oriented Investment approach. Research on Investment Instruments and most importantly, a process to identify and quantify the investment needs and risk profiles of the investors.
Enriching Journey
It was a phase when the Indian Capital Market was undergoing major transformations, Controller of Capital Issues to SEBI, outcry trading ring to online trading platforms, physical shares to electronic Dematerialised securities, family-owned stock brokers to professionally managed stock broking firms, Unit trust of India to Private Mutual Funds, Badla to Futures & Options, Red and Blue Blocks to Trading Apps!
He was fortunate enough to be part of the Indian Capital Market's rapid evolution in the last 3 decades.
The journey began with a degree in Mathematics from Madras University and Software Programming and systems management Certifications, an MBA in Financial Management and an honorary Doctorate followed with time.
Established Impetus Arthasutra in 1994 as an Equity Research firm subsequently obtained Portfolio Management Registration under SEBI Portfolio Managers Regulations in 2007.
